The National Bood Service (NBS) in collaboration with the Global Blood Fund (GBF) has donated 470 pieces of branded T-shirts to the Hope Christian Hospital in support of the hospital’s advocacy in voluntary blood donation in the Central Region.
The 470 branded T-shirts donated to Hope Christian Hospital are part of a larger consignment of blood donor garments received from the Global Blood Fund, a respected UK charity dedicated to supporting blood services worldwide. These garments are intended to encourage and recognize voluntary blood donors across the country and will be used as part of NBS’s donor recruitment and retention strategy.
Presenting the items at the NBS Headquarters on 5th August 2025, Dr. Owusu-Ofori, Chief Executive Officer of the Blood Service noted that, as part of its corporate social responsibility, the NBS supports blood establishmets and other health facilities through in-kind contributions such as first aid supplies and promotional materials to aid blood donation efforts. She expressed hope that the donation would significantly enhance the hospital’s voluntary blood donation campaigns and commended the hospital for its ongoing commitment to the mission of the Blood Service.
Mr. Emmanuel Y. Oppong-Boakye, Laboratory Manager at Hope Christian Hospital, received the donation on behalf of the hospital and conveyed the hospital’s gratitude to the NBS for its continued support. He assured that the T-shirts would be used effectively to promote blood donation and ultimately benefit patients of the hospital.
