RIGHT TO INFORMATION

Pursuant to Article 21(1) (f) of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic, every citizen is entitled as of right to demand access to information held by a public institution, subject to the exemptions that are necessary and consistent with the protection of Public Interest in a democratic society.

We at National Blood Service are glad to announce, that as part of efforts to implement this Constitutional Right to Information under Act 989, we have an established Information unit which shall deal with all request under this Act. Our doors are open to the general public all through the week to receive and process requests.

This we believe shall promote or foster a culture of transparency and accountability in Public Affairs and related matters. Our Information Unit is fully operational and can be located on the 2nd floor of our National Headquarters, within the Public Relations Unit.

In line with the government’s directive on the Covid-19 Safety protocols, the NBSG encourages all its cherished customers/clients seeking information under the RTI Law 2019 (Act 989) to download this form, complete and forward same to the email provided.

Applicants may also make requests in person orally or written and addressed to the Institution for processing.
