Mr. Inuwa Abubakar Musah marked his 63rd birthday on the 20th of August 2025 by making his 100th voluntary blood donation, thus turning his special day into an act of kindness that will help save lives.
Mr. Musah’s dedication to regular blood donation over the years has inspired many and continues to underscore the importance of voluntary blood donation in Ghana. He shared his journey of first giving blood; for an ailing family member and after a successful venture, he committed to come back every four months to voluntarily donate a unit of whole blood for beneficiaries he did not know.
In a brief statement, he encouraged eligible Ghanaians to become blood donors, noting that “this is a small act that makes a big difference to patients.” He also expressed gratitude to the donation team at the Greater Accra Regional Blood Centre, who celebrated him with birthday wishes and songs, followed by a light refreshment after his donation. “They are an absolutely amazing team,” he remarked.
The Chief Executive Officer of the National Blood Service, Dr. Shirley Owusu-Ofori, congratulated Mr. Musah and wished him many more years of good health and strength. She further encouraged him to become an advocate for voluntary blood donation in his community and a shining example across the country.
