NBS CONGRATULATES DR. WILLIAMS ANSAH-OTU

December 12, 2025

The National Blood Service (NBS) congratulates Dr. Williams Ansah-Otu on his successful qualification as a Hematologist and Laboratory Physician, conferred on the 9th of December 2025 during his induction as a member of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Ansah-Otu, a Senior Medical Officer at the National Blood Service, distinguished himself throughout his residency training. At his induction ceremony, he received the Best Resident Award from the Faculty of Laboratory Medicine in recognition of his exemplary clinical performance, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.

With a strong professional focus on transfusion medicine and haemovigilance, Dr. Ansah-Otu has developed extensive expertise in anaemia clinics for blood donors, donor and recipient haemovigilance, and the investigation of adverse transfusion reactions—critical functions that enhance blood safety and strengthen patient outcomes.

The National Blood Service once again extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Williams Ansah-Otu on his outstanding achievement. His dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to advancing safe, sustainable, and high-quality blood services will help in advancing safe, high-quality, and sustainable blood services in Ghana.
